10 Tips for Increasing Your Reach on Social Media Platforms

Increasing your reach on social media platform isn’t just about having more people follow you. It’s about getting those followers to actually engage with you and spread the word about what you have to offer. These 10 tips will help you maximize your reach on social media so that your posts get more likes, shares, and followers.

1) Use Hashtags

Hashtags help you get noticed by more people. On every social media platform, including Twitter and Instagram, hashtags allow you to add words or phrases to a post that let others find what you’re posting. 

If your post is interesting and has strong content, it’s more likely to be shared with a hashtag than if there isn’t one attached.

2) Keep a Consistent Posting Schedule

Posting consistently will increase your reach on social media networking. In order to maintain a regular schedule, write down when you want to post and what you want to post about and stick to it. Consistency is key!

 

3) Create an Engaging Captions

Captions are an easy way to increase your engagement. By changing them up and making them more engaging, you can increase interest in your photos and videos, and keep your audience coming back. 

Engaging captions will vary depending on what type of content you’re posting; it’s all about knowing your audience and using language they relate to.

4) Post at the Right Time

The best time to post depends on your audience and where they spend their time online. If you’re not sure when people are most likely to see and engage with your posts, look at your competitors’ accounts. 

And once you’ve found out when they post, do some digging and find out what kind of content performs well for them during those times.

 

5) Make it Visual with Videos and Images

One of my favorite ways to increase my reach and engagement on social media is to use visuals, like videos and images. Visuals really catch people’s attention, so using them in your social media updates gives you an edge over others who don’t. 

Plus, they help drive home your message and make it more memorable. Make sure you have a good mix of visuals and text in your social media posts so you can appeal to as many people as possible.

6) Engage With Influencers

Influencers are one of the best ways to increase your reach. Interacting with influencers means your content will reach a wider audience. 

Find someone who’s already talked about your niche and ask them to share or RT one of your posts; they’ll often be happy to do so if you mention them in return. 

The more influential you are, the more influence you have! But it’s important to do so in a way that’s genuine.

 

7) Engage With The Latest Trends

By engaging with trending topics and current events, you can connect with your target audience. Think of something relevant to your company or brand that’s happening right now; then write a post about it and implement the social media networking.

You may also consider tracking which hashtags are popular on a day-to-day basis, so you can create posts that add value in that way. When writing content around trending topics, be sure to include keyword phrases in order to optimize your chances of ranking well in search results.

8) Monitor Your Activity

Take an honest look at your social media use. First, check in with your frequency: are you posting, sharing, and commenting enough? Next, check in with what platform or platforms work best for you. 

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to social media reach; what works for one person may not work as well for another.

9) Use Countdowns, Polls, and other Quizzes

People love taking quizzes, and you can use them to promote your content. Want to make sure users actually pay attention to your quiz? Let it ask a question that relates directly to one of your latest posts. 

You can also ask users to provide an email address in exchange for access, giving you another way to connect with engaged readers and make sure they don’t miss out on future content.

 

10) Collaborate With Others

Collaborating with others is an excellent way to spread your content and get a wider reach on social media platforms.

 If you don’t have a network of influencers, ask around to see if anyone you know might be willing to share some of your content. There are lots of ways to collaborate, including co-creating posts or participating in social contests.
